What Refind does
Refind is a Chrome extension that lets you bookmark pages and add notes. It is designed to be private by default.
Data we collect
- Bookmarks and notes — stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. We do not transmit this data to any server.
- Authentication — if you sign in with Google or X, we receive your name and email from the provider. This is used solely to identify your account. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
Data we do not collect
- We do not track your browsing history.
- We do not collect analytics or usage telemetry.
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
- We do not use cookies beyond what is required for authentication.
Where your data is stored
All bookmarks and notes are stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. Your data never leaves your browser unless a future update introduces cloud sync, which would be opt-in and clearly communicated.
Third-party services
- Supabase — used for authentication only. Subject to the Supabase Privacy Policy.
- Google / X OAuth — used to verify your identity when signing in. We only receive your name and email.
Your rights
You can delete all your data at any time by removing the Refind extension from Chrome. This permanently erases all locally stored bookmarks, notes, and settings.
